Palmetto to Assist Aiken County EMS

7/27/2009

Since 1994, Palmetto Ambulance Service and Aiken County EMS have worked together under a mutual aide agreement. Anytime they have requested assistance, Palmetto Ambulance Service has responded providing EMS coverage to certain areas within the county, to mass casualty incidents like the tragic Graniteville train wreck on January 6, 2005 where over 5200 of our neighbors were displaced.

On July 27, 2009, Palmetto Ambulance Service renewed their commitment not only to Aiken EMS but more importantly to the community as a whole and its residents. James Reid, Public Relations Director interviewed with WJBF Channel 6 News, expressing Palmetto's readiness and eagerness to play a larger role within the community of Aiken, which many of us call home. Our mission remains the same, to be a leading edge provider of healthcare transportation services, whether emergent or non-emergent.
